IDK; how would you feel if someone said "eh, you don't have to care about something really useful to you because it's discontinued"? I get a sense that this part is a miscommunication (lost in translation?) and I hope there's no malice involved.

That said, this discussion is distracting from OP's main concern which is essentially a RMA. Given the ASIAir Pro is 'discontinued', what are OP's options?

It has already been agreed between myself and the retailer (and the UK main importer) that my ASA is faulty and will be replaced. The original question was regarding any extra payment, as the PLUS is slightly more expensive than the PRO and if, as there are no stocks of the PRO to replace mine, would I be given priority and get the PLUS as soon as it is available or would I have to wait until it was freely available in the UK.
I have three ASI cameras, the ASIAIR, an EAF and other ZWO products at a value of around £2000 and have been saving to buy an ASI2600 MM Pro but the lack of any definitive response from ZWO is giving me doubts about continuing to buy any of their products and I suspect anyone reading this will feel the same. As you say Marcdota it could just be a lost in translation issue but it feels more like the question is being avoided.

crispy5573 honestly I think it's something @tech@zwo has to clear with higher ups (since it involves money and a possible RMA) and s/he still hasn't heard back from them. Which is totally fine! It just needs to be communicated to you, right?

I'd hold off judgment for now and let this play out. Hopefully it does before that rare clear UK night happens.

Is below picture how you do the test the whole process?
I won't call this ventilated environment and what is this power supply? Can you find a regular 12V 5A power adapter to test again? Different power supply can affect the result.

If you are ask for a replacement because of lack of industry standards, first we thank for your suggestion and sorry for the nonstandard, but this is not sufficient enough that we should offer you a replacement ASIAIR plus. 44.2C- 49.7C under what environment/condition, and what power supply are you using? If you are not going to provide any pictures regarding this, the truth is we have the right to say this temperature range is fairly reasonable.

Seriously I give up ! I showed you a copy of AN industry standard because you said you didn't have ay standard to measure by. If you really want to go into it your figure of 60C is classified as hot enough to cause burns by every industry health and safety standard I have seen. I have NEVER said the temperature mine gets to is why I want a replacement but if I did I am pretty sure you would be telling me my power supply is wrong or the ambient temperature is too high or some other variable that would be my fault. Maybe I use too many of the 4 power outlets or too many USB ports ! I already run my mount and dew heaters from a separate power supply. The only things powered by my ASIAIR Pro are my ASI 183MC Pro, it's dew heater and my ZWO (Vonets) WiFi extender. My ZWO EAF and ASI290MM guide camera are powered by the USB hub on the ASI183. The ASIAIR Pro is powered by a 240Wh 12v 10A max power bank.

OK lets start again.
1)The unit disconnects (a lot) even though the WiFi signal to my tablet from the Extender shows a full signal.
2)When I have been doing planetary AP and manual focusing the picture freezes so between minor adjustments of focus I have to change from Focus to Preview and back.
3) I bought the ASIAIR Pro to cut down on cables running from the floor to the various pieces of equipment and to be able to run my setup from a portable power supply. I now need to use two power supplies and I have three power cables and a dew heater controller.
4) I have on a few occasions done a PA to 4-6 arc seconds then slewed to my target which can not be centered so I slew back to home position and check the PA to find it is at least 1 arc minute out! (I use an iOptron CEM40 EC and the base is on concrete)
So to conclude:
I no longer trust anything the ASIAIR Pro tells me.
I dare not leave it unattended and have to keep checking it is connected and doing as I asked it.
It is unreliable and not doing what it was described as being able to do.
The ONLY reason I mentioned the temperature was because I thought it may be causing these malfunctions.
Please do not bother replying my retailer will sort it out when the PLUS arrives as it is obviously not your responsibility

There is no such "perfect" product in the world, if we add a fan to improve the thermal, then the vibration may cause other issues, then we are going to have a different conversation but still problematic. Of course there are other solutions but please notice the costs element. And I won't judge so quickly about your 4 points have anything to do with temperature, at least we need to check the log first. Since you have sorted it out with your retailer, I think I should just shut up but still feel obligated to make a statement as above.

Originally I measured 45 deg C, then I put a passive heat sink on top of the case and after being on all night the maximum case temperature was 37 deg C. I am happy with the result for sure.
