Good day!
I think I need some help with my setup, as I run out of options I can imagine myself.
My setup is as described as in the title, in addition I have a ASI174mm on the scope and a 290mm on a 5x32mm guidescope. The mount is connected to the ASIAIRpro via Wifi and reacts to all commands given. I use the skywatcher GTi/WIFI mode in the dropdown menu of the mount selection in the ASIAIR app.
I do my alignment from the home position (in AltAz it is level pointing north) with a two star alignment via the Synscan app, tracking on the synscan app turned on. I slew to a position a bit away from the second alignment star then and leave the Synscyn app running in the background, In the ASIAIR app, I do a plate resolve which normally finishes in less than a second.
Here the trouble starts: I pick a DS object nearby and make the ASIAIR app go there and plate resolve. There are three possible outcomes:
1) It slews in the general direction of the object and fails to plate resolve, running astray quite a lot in that process. This is the most common option.
2) It starts slewing in a way that the telescope points to the ground. Nearly as common as option 1. Sometimes, it find the object thereafter with the sope turned upside down.
3) it goes to the object and resolves. This only happened once so far.
There is a major mistake that I must make, but I fail to see it. Can you help or advise me what to do? Going EQ is NOT a solution for some reasons. I need this setup to work. Thank you.
Edit - and let me add one question here: Should tracking be turned on in the synscan app or the ASIAIR app or in both?
