I'm just having a play with APT and am running a series of short exposures using my ASI 071 MC pro to just check out all is functioning OK.... am running a set of 5 , 2 and 1 second exposures. My camera is connected to my scope, but I have the lens cap off and the scope pointing at a dim part of the observatory. So with 1 or 2 sec exposures, I would expect almost fully flooded white images. But that isn't happening.
The sequences run, the images download to my laptop, but every image is black , as though the lens cap is still on ! what on earth am I doing wrong here ?! help and advice please !?! Before anyone suggests it, yes I am definitely running a lights plan, not darks or anything else. Has anyone known of camera failure that might cause this, or have I set something incorrectly in APT ?!
