Hi, I have just tried all of that and have bought a new controllable light panel, all without success. I am now no longer on auto only, so I know I get the right exposure and the panel isn't too bright, I can achieve an average of 26000 ADU on the histogram, so the panel isn't too bright like the warning dialog box that pops up upon failure. The AAP can also control the camera without any issues in manual mode for flat frames. I would suggest some is going wrong with the auto-exposure routine and the shutter is staying open when the maximum ADU time has been reached and the AAP isn't closing the shutter, hence why its seems to be blowing out ADU. When in manual mode, I can hear the shutter click, but when in auto mode the shutter doesn't click, which suggests it is staying open.
