Hello all
Apologies if this has been dealt with before. I've searched like mad but can't find an answer.
While waiting for the ASIAIR plus, I'm running ASIStudio a MacBook Pro (latest Apple silicon) and a MacBook (Intel) and I'm having the same problem with both machines. It's not my ASI120mm that's the problem.... it's my new ASI2600mc pro and ASI Img.
The scenario goes like this:
ASI2600mc pro hooked up to the MacBook pro by USB3; nothing else connected; all good. 12v power from ZWO power brick connected and on.
Will take a few single captures, but then it hangs at pretty much any exposure over 2 seconds, showing 0.0 sec exposure time for ages, then "exposure failed".
In autorun mode, it'll also take a few captures then hang. The exposure meter at the bottom will then eventually start onto the next exposure, though the number of shots taken doesn't increase, and the disk space doesn't fall. Then another loooong pause after it gets down to 0.0 seconds left. Then, eventually it'll hang forever and say "exposure failed".
The fan keeps running; the camera can be switched on and off in the control panel, but the cooler shows 0 degrees, which doesn't change. None of the other controls work (e.g. you can't turn the cooler on and off). On exiting the software the fan carries on running until you disconnect the USB. If you just exit the software without removing the USB, and restart ASI Img, the fan keeps running but the display at the top of the window shows "Cooler 0 degrees, cooler on" and none of the controls work (e.g. you still can't turn the cooler on and off).
So to summarise, in autorun I can take about 3-4x 10 sec captures before it locks up, hangs the software, keeps the fan running til you unplug everything and restart.
Bizarrely having read so many comments about the 120mini, it'll run a full autorun of as many shots as I like in autorun. It's just the ASI2600mc that doesn't want to work.
Tried it on 2 different macs, and same behaviour on both.
Anyone got a similar problem? Any suggestions gratefully received. Is it the camera or the software? Why would it work on the ASI120mini of all cameras, but not on the ASI2600?
(Incidentally, if I connect the ASI120mini through the on-cam USB 2 hub on the ASI2600, it'll still happily take as many captures as I like in autorun, so it doesn't seem to be the USB connection). Using the original ZWO USB cables which (as above) seem to be working).
Thanks in advance for any help!
