I did a test out of curiosity from @WalterT comments:
This was on an ASIAir Plus, but I'd imagine similar power numbers.
0.6-0.7A 07-08W Idle with nothing running, but everything connected
2.6-2.7A 30-32W Cooling of 2600MC @ 100%
2.9-3.2A 32-35W Same as above but added in camera Dew Heater and taking/xfering a picture
3.8-4.4A 41-48W Same as above, but adding 2x dew heaters (3" & 6") at 100% and EAF in motion
So in summary, this setup is totally within the 5A limit. but I can see how it's pushing the buffer, right now it's around 20% which makes sense (4.2 or 5.0A) I'd be concerned if it got to <10% which would be >4.5A of draw. That could easily happen on a different scope with a larger dew heater, or may even trigger on the older EAF that drew power from the ports, mine is the new 5V EAF that draws from the USB port.
PS - Cooling at a lower amount is substantially less draw, so if your running between 30-60% cooling (which is normal) then you gain back over 1A of available capacity.
