I have grown to really love the way ASIAIR has developed and it's total integration of all functions including imaging, focusing, filter wheel control, guiding, and setting up sequences.
My one gripe is that there is some frustrating incompatibility between ASIAIR software and ASI Studio regarding ROI. Specifically, I look to create my dark and bias library indoors in a cooler box and directly connect my camera to my computer. I use the ASIAIR Pro together with ASI6200MM Pro for imaging and often use the APS-C crop function in the ASIAIR software to real-time crop the image and speed up imaging. This is one big advantage of the ASI6200MM imaging sensor enabling me to still have much higher resolution than my ASI1700 and take advantage of the much higher performance back-side illuminated sensor. However in ASI Studio despite having a wide range of ROI (crop) options, the one obvious ratio (APS-C = 6384 x 4258) is missing! This means that I have to use ASIAir to make my dark and bias libraries, with all of the associated extra work of transferring files, and lower speed. Please can ZWO either add this one key ratio to the ASI Studio drop down list?
Also, on the same topic, it would be really good to have more ROI choice (and Gain settings) in the ASIAir application. At present this is limited to just full frame or APS-C crop, and also Low or High gain. I don't want to use binning because I ultimately sacrifice some detail in my imaging with this. Maybe ASIAIR software/hardware has some limitations and this is not possible? If so, then at least the ASI Studio should replicate the ASIAIR settings for ROI.
Thanks in advance for consideration and keep up the good work on producing the best range of 'joined up' systems level hardware for astrophotographers!
