With the USB port, you do not need to use the Hand Controller at all, no mount-based alignment. Simply follow the specific outlined steps described on the "'?" bubble next to the mount settings in ASIAir App settings view (where you can turn on/off the mount). That info bubble explains exactly what you need to do.
You will always need to do PA via some method regadless of any mount or ASIAir version. The ASIAir is the easiest. PA is a physical attribute of your mount (turning knobs), so the ASIAir can't use software effectively to replace a physical mis-alignment (unless you just luckily were close to polar aligned)
