niteman1946 Hi, as someone that has owned both the 294MC Pro and the MM, I can tell you that the color version definitely needed flat darks vs bias. With the mono version I seem to get similar results by using one or the other (never both at the same time).
You make flat darks by taking dark frames at the same exposure settings as your flats. For example if your flats are 3 seconds long you would then cap the scope and take 3sec darks at the same gain, exposure length, and temperature as the flats. Don’t forget if you ever change your offset, those will need to be the same also.
