Friends, need a little of your expert advice.
I am choosing my first astrocamera. ASI 294MC looks really good to me, but I am not sure whether I need a cooled or a regular version. Please help me decide, based on information below.
I am a very occasional and amateur astrophotographer (although an advanced hobbyist in regular landscape and travel photography). Targets are stars and nebulas, no intention to shoot planets so far. No need (and no time actually) to develop poster-quality images.
I have got no backyard, so no opportunity for multi-hour shooting; I expect average session to be some two hours. The place where I live is quite cold: average +20 C for summer, winters are slightly below zero Celsius.
My equipment rig is quite simple: ASIAIR Pro, Celestron CST C5 telescope (127 mm aperture, 1250 mm focal distance). Sky Watcher AZ-GTi in EQ mode. I do not think that I am going to use pro stuff such as filter wheels in the foreseeable future, so colour camera will do.
What would you say: in such circumstances, do I need to go for a cooled camera, or a regular 294MC can make me happy and produce nice shots of galaxies and nebulas (those ones which are reachable with 2-hour overall exposure)?
Thank you.
