Replacing RPi board

I am going to be replacing the RPi on my AIR Pro. I understand about how to request the release of my license from original to new.
But, in shopping for a new board I have run across the version with 8 gig of ram over the original 4.
physically it will all match up. But will the ASI software work on it?

applal Note that AAP uses a very old 32 bit RPi kernel so it will not be able to use the additional memory. A 4 Gb RPi is cheaper than an 8 Gb RPi so you may as well save some money and buy the 4 Gb version.

wvreeven - Thank you for your reply. The reason for my query is that the 4g versions seem to be sold out or on backorder everywhere. I spent an entire morning and the only 4g boards I did find were as expensive as the 8g versions, so to widen my shopping options, I had to ask.

applal That's a good explanation and if I were you I'd go for an 8 Gb RPi.
