I am researching options for my first astrophotography rig.
So far I ordered the EQ6-R Pro mount, which will arrive tomorrow.
Don't know which telescope or auxiliary equipment I will add next.
My 2 questions for now refer to ASIAIR, if the experts in this forum are kind enough to answer:
- I do not have a view of Polaris due to trees. I saw a workaround for doing polar alignment with Asiair on youtube which requires a view of 30 degree from Polaris but I may not have enough view around Polaris.
My question is: will I be able to do polar alignment with Asiar?
If not, can I do Polar alignment under the circumstances with PHD2 (drift alignment), or NINA and still use Asiar for everything else? (all this is just theory for me, I don't even have telescope yet 🙂
- I read various posts about problems with connecting Asiair to EQ6-R Pro mount. Are these problems solved now, If ordering Asiair Plus? I cannot understand the the technicalities of Unix, which I believe are required to modify the Asiair Pro version to work with EQ6-R Pro
Many thanks!
