Hello everyone,
I finally managed to acquire a CCD camera which should be efficient! This is the ZWO 2600 color camera. I use it with a TEC 140 telescope on a CGEM mount.
I am interested in the technique of short deep sky poses and I would need to benefit from the experience of the many practitioners on the forum please!
Not being a technician, it is difficult for me to interpret the possible answers which one finds on the manual and on the forum and other technical sites!
In what format do you recommend working in deep sky. It seems that the camera can work in 16-bit RAW according to the SCHARCAP software package. Is this the format you recommend?
According to the instructions that I am sending you as an attachment, could you tell me the maximum gain of the camera? If I want to work in short exposures, do you know what value I should set gain, sensitivity and other essentials for when shooting?
Regarding the DARKS and OFFSETS, if I proceed in broad daylight to create a bank of DARKS or OFFSETS, they will be valid given the light of day; is this type of camera light-proof?
Again, please give me dummy version answers as much as possible so that I have a chance to understand!
Thank you in advance for your help.
Good Sunday. 😉
