Driver problems?long time exposure ASI120MC

Hi Sam,

Since the planets are not visible at a reasonable time for me right

now, I am busy doing long time exposures as an experiment.

The Laptop crashed so I decided to reinstall everything, from

windows7x64 to Firecapture V2.3 B13 and ASI drivers/SDK

latest versions SDK1.0.0.2 and ASI120MC_Setup2.0.0.805.

When first started up, I had a surprise with the colors, all seemed

wrong, looks like Blue en Red are swapped?

When feeding an avi through AutostakkertV2.2.16 there is something

completely wrong, some parts of the image debayer ok, others have

a colored ( green ) vale over it.

Then I decided to go back with the driver and SDK version to the

release before and all seemed to work normal again.

One more problem ( maybe it is just me ) is a weird noise pattern

when doing exposures of 250 seconds long!

Attatched is a crop of a streched image so you can see.

Posibly I had some flexure between the guiding tube and the Mak I

was taking the image with.M33-integration-deconv-45º-v1.jpg270813_100407_g4_ap21.jpg

actually FC works seperate from the driver and SDK.

because it content all the SDK dlls need to run.

FC should works the same whenever update the driver or not.

about the long exposure problem. it seems a stack problem.

because there is some small noise pixel and your stacked image moved a little in this direction.

The one thing that puzzled me is the other image to which I referred,

the one of a chimney, taken with the new drivers and fed through AS!2

where that green veil here and there appears.

I will do more tests, since it must be some sort of software problem!

What would be the maximum exposure time that still would be usable?

I refer to the noise getting very strong, it is not a cooled camera!

Do I remember well that you are developing a cooled version as well?

Would it be much more expensive then the ASI120MC I bought

a few weeks ago??

with a 0.5x reducer, 61 frames of 30 seconds

what about other software like Sharpcap?

I think its a debayer problem.

the longest exposure I think should less than 30s for a uncooled camera.

About the cooling version, we would like to make one and test.

but it doesn't mean we will sale it. its depends on the result

Thanks Sam, As soon as I can, I will try different software programs

to capture and debayer.

In the mean tinme, if not to compromised to ask for, could you please

keep me informed once in a while on progress of ASI cooled camera?

Soon Jupiter comes into view for me, can't wait to test on that!!
