w7ay I installed StellarMate this week and it works pretty well controlling my mount and cameras. It is not 1,2,3 ;-) But I got it to work with the help of the open sourced community. The trick is to chain INDI servers in a series of INDI servers. I have to admit though, that ZWO did a great job with the GUI of the ASIAIR. Even in its simplicity, it offers great and convenient features StellarMate does not, or not yet. Well, maybe I have not found them yet. Chaining servers in a row is not supported yet by the ASIAIR as far as I can see it.

Yes, I hope to get INDIGO Sky working with my mount. The manufacturer is on it.

Exactly, everything is just a matter of time in the IT world. The creation of the RPi4 is one of those things. Although … I used to work with Sun workstations. They were great little gems. Single board high end computers/workstations. … They just did not make it to the consumer level.

Since SUN Microsystems came out of a Stanford project (SUN stood for "Stanford University Network") I had the original 68000 based SUN workstation on my desk at the startup I joined (started by a couple of other Stanford CS folks; I was with Radar Astronomy at Stanford -- combining my two hobbies :-).

The Sun crashed all the time that I became good at patching Unix i-nodes back together after a disk crash :-). The server was a VAX-750 running bsd, which virtually never crashed. We went to Apollo workstations after that, before I joined Apple in 1988, and downgraded to a Macintosh II. It was a god sent when Apple finally migrated to Unix :-).

A single Raspberry Pi probably has more compute power than all the computers I that used before 1990 combined, including an IBM 7094.

I bought an ASI178MC today, bought Parallels, and bought a Windows Key – only to find out (after hours of trying to get it to work) that the camera is not recognized on Windows 11 ARM Insider Preview on my M1 Mac...

If you just need to connect a Mac to an ASI camera, you can use one of the applications that are in the ASIStudio suite. You can find it at ZWO's download web page, and there is a native MacOS version. The MacOS versions works fine on an M1 Mac Mini and an M1 MacBook Pro (Big Sur).

I have the same problem controlling an ASI camera with a custom software on python and openCV. In this case the use of the SDK is a must but the included library libASICamera2.dylib1.26 is not compatible with the architecture of the Apple M1 that is just the computer I got. Having in mind that the new architecture of Apple is going to be pervasive very fast I encourage ZWO to deploy a new library compatible with arme64e as soon as possible. Many of us are waiting anxiously for the solution.

I was just looking into this today to see if I could get ZWO cameras working on Windows on Arm on our new Windows 11 Arm dev kit released today. We have a class driver for the Image class you're using (same class GUID as in your .inf), so I'd love to have a thread with someone to sort out if we need to add something or make changes to avoid requiring a driver just for Windows. In the meantime (things like that can take a while) if you need support for an Arm64 version of your driver, I know the folks who can help.

I was interested in seeing how much could run on an Arm64 device, but am blocked by the camera driver, like many others here.

We have x64 emulation, but it is not for Windows drivers, only for applications and user-mode pseudo-driver stuff like ASCOM.
