Hi folks. So I have the EAF hooked up, and i'm a bit confused as to when it should actually be used... Do I still need to get a rough focus first? Can I can from completely unfocused where nearly nothing is showing, and only 1 or 2 stars are detected by the camera, and then it will be able to focus from there?

When i used it last night, I tapped "focus" on the right, (above PA) and the AF button on the main screen.. and the error I kept getting was no stars detected, try to length exposure time or gain. I did this but still nothing....

So do I need to manually focus it first before starting the Auto focus procedure?
Also is there a way to manual adujust the focus using the EAF from ASIair?

In my experience you should be close to focus. I get the stars pretty tight with the hand controller or control in the ASIAir app, then let autofocus do it's thing.

You manually get it close to focus and then run the autofocus routine. Take note of the EAF position once autofocus is completed and the next time, you move the EAF directly to that position. Unless you've changed something in your optical train you should be very close to focus.
