I have not been able to perform guide calibration since installing 1.8.1 and I have tried many different combinations in the available settings. One issue is that the Guide Rate setting in the Mount settings is no longer available so I cannot select 0.25x, 0.5x, etc.
I have set the calibration step as high as 9500 and it still will not do the West step to completion. I hope this gets fixed soon!
