Hi everyone, and happy Christmas!
I've got an puzzling conundrum, and any offers of advice would be gratefully received.
I've got 2 identical Asiair Pluses (both running on the same latest firmware). The first one is hooked up as follows:
USB3 to camera
USB 2 to guide scope
USB 2 to CEM40 (2021 version with single USB input, latest firmware)
Camera (ASi2600mc) USB hub to EAF.
... basically, as per the quick start guide. All works perfectly.
So, I set up the second Asiair in exactly the same way with a duplicate rig as the first, the only difference is the scope (using a Redcat 71, instead of a 51 as on the first Asiair. I just swap the 51 rig for the 71 rig on the CEM40 as they're set up exactly the same, but using only one CEM40 mount).
BUT....
if the CEM40 is connected to ANY of the USB sockets on the second Asiair, the Asiair goes into a startup/shutdown/startup loop. I've tried 4 different cables, nothing makes any difference. I've reset firmware, tried different power supplies, cables, etc too.
However, if I plug the CEM40 into the USB hub on the camera, it works perfectly.
So the question is - how come the set up works fine with the CEM40 plugged into the first Asiair, but on the second Asiair I have to connect the CEM40 to the ASI2600mc camera hub for it to work? Seems strange that identical setups (except for the scope) work differently!
(DST disabled etc).
Any thoughts gratefully appreciated! Meanwhile happy holidays to you all.
