Program beside Firecapture or SharpCap to operate ASI120MC?

Are there any programs other than Firecapture or SharpCap that the ASI120MC can use to operate? I thought that I had solved my problem of Saturn flickering in an ROI preview window but last night the flickering returned. Saturn looks fine in the full 1280x960 preview window but as soon as I switch to an ROI frame the planet repeatedly moves across the screen and then returns to its original position in the preview window, that's the flickering effect I'm referring to. I reduced the USB traffic to 40 and defragmented my hard drive but that didn't stop the problem from re-occurring last night.

I'd like to try another software program to operate my ASI120MC if such a program exists. Torsten mentioned the "ASI Software Tool" but I don't know what that is.

I used my ASI120MC very briefly with K3CCD Tools. It seemed to work okay. K3CCD Tools has a free 35 day trial period and can be downloaded from this website: http://www.pk3.org/K3CCDTools

By the way, how do you reduce USB traffic? During my last imaging session (my second with the 120MC), Firecapture kept freezing up after capturing about a thousand frames. Each freeze up required a complete power off and restart of the computer. I eventually switched to SharpCap and had no problems. I'm wondering if reducing the USB traffic might help. I tried various ROIs, but the freeze ups happened at all ROI sizes.

Hey Russ, thank you for pointing out K3CCD Tools; I'll give it a try. My Firecapture has begun to freeze up too after about a thousand frames requiring a complete restart, just like your situation.

To reduce the USB traffic look under the "Control" section of Firecapture v2.3 (beta 08). Beneath the word "Control" you'll see three words, "Gain", "Exp" and "Gamma". Next to "Gamma" click on the little triangle; in the 5th line you'll see the control for "USB Traffic" with a slider or up and down arrows that you can adjust.

FC and SC are the best softwares to works with ASI120MC.

I am sure you can solve your problem very easy by adjust the "USB Traffice" to a little high value
