Okay I have searched the internet, went through the Help PDF’s and tried to find some YouTube videos on the subject I am going to ask about. I see a lot of videos on live stacking but none that I can find address the question I have.
While in the ASI Studio Live Stacking in the Stack block, there is a circle with three dots that when clicked brings up the “Stack Advanced Settings” window. I am assuming that this is where, when auto stacking, you can use the three types of Calibration frames. However, I cannot find if you are to use one calibration frame or do a stack of one type of calibration frame for an average and use the average calibration frame. The reason I ask is the option to select only lets you select one file. If it is a one file and it is to be the average of each file calibration; Bias, Dark, Flats, how many of each should one do to make an average? Does the average of each type have to be made at the time you are getting ready to do your Lights? I have seen others do their Darks, Bias and Flats in advance for use during, say a season, and not every time they are out. I understand that the Flats may have to be done each night out or the next day due to those dust particles that may accumulate on the optics.
Now in the Deep Sky Stacking program you can select any number of the Bias, Dark, Flat files which is not the option in the Live Stacking. Just like in the other stacking programs I have used.
Hope someone can answer the above questions.
Thanks,
Jerry
