Hi. Recently I bought an ASIAir Plus and I'm using it with a SkyWatcher EQ8-R Pro mount. I have updated the ASIAir Plus to the latest firmware with the activation. I have the ASIAir Plus connected to the mount via USB ( the connection in the mount body ) at 115200 bauds with EQMOD. It works at the beginning but after a while I have this message: Connect Failed. The device on the USB serial port is not recognized, unable to connect. I tried to lower the bauds to 9600 and doesn't recognize the mount. I have to restart the ASIAir Plus in order to make it work again. Through the SynScan hand controller sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't ( at 9600 bauds ). I have read that some folks with iOptron mounts are experiencing the same issues. I don't know if this is a general bug or something related to SkyWatcher and/or iOptron drivers. I am able to connect directly to the mount using my computer with INDIGO/ INDI apps using 115200 bauds via USB 2.0 cable without any issue, so it seems to be a problem with the ASIAir OS and/or drivers.
Another thing I find intriguing is why I have to make a polar alignment and 3 stars alignment before using the SynScan option. At INDIGO/ INDI apps I use this driver and it doesn't force me to do any alignment at all. Neither know if I decide to use this option, if the PA and the 3 star alignment must be executed through the hand controller. Really confusing.
At least, it would be great if the direct connection to the mount could work with any of both ( EQMOD or SynScan options ) at 115200 or 9600 bauds without these random disconnections.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thank you in advanced.
