In my case, I connected my Orion xt10g dobsonian with aap via a hand controller and tried skywatcher Synscan and SW Synscan (beta) on aap. With both, I always have to perform 2 star alignment before making a connection. Otherwise, aap refuses to connect to the dobs.
My problem is goto "almost" works, but not completely. After plate solving, it gets stuck in a slightly off position (0.5-1 degree off) and never succeeds in centering the target despite multiple tries (before giving up). Did you have a better luck with goto and centering?
As for tracking, one of the above two drivers doesn't support tracking (tracking doesn't show up in the ui), while the other does. Not sure how good the tracking is when available.
