When using an OAG, the guiding needs to be paused while the EAF does an auto focus routine because the guide star gets lost given its very out of focus, and so guiding then tries to compensate, which then makes the autofocus routine struggle to give round & accurate stars. This all happens because the oag & eaf are in the same light path obviously.
Other software packages all have options to pause while running Autofocus. A fix for the asiair would be to include an OAG checkbox within the EAF tab, which pauses the guiding while the autofocus routine gets run, and resumes it several seconds after it completes.
