more details - there is something seriously wrong with storage systems on AA+ after further testing. First I saw an upgrade to app 1.9 as of today (same version but testflight update) which updated firmware to v9.41.
I put in an SD card and see the SD Card passing through to the PC as a 2nd drive of thr AA+, neither accurately reflect what's showing on the AA+ image management as mentioned above. but in addition, I am certain now the issue is with the AA+ and some masking or abnormal file management is happening - possible with caching or filtering of files as the iOS image management app & firmware level.
After taking a picture then connecting via USB; I see the most recent image. now from the AA+ delete the file off eMMC... so there are zero files on the eMMC drive. however I still see the file in Windows Explorer. doing refresh a few times nothing changes, the file is still there - but it shouldn't be because it's been deleted off AA+. well if I COPY the file from AA+ to Windows, it actually copies the file! so even though it's deleted, it still somehow manages to see the file and can transfer it. I then opened the file in windows ASI Fits viewer and sure enough, it's a legitimate file. so the AA+ even though it said it's deleted, the file is still sitting on eMMC storage.
I also used the broom icon to clean up eMMC and the same thing happened. this clearly tells me that it's not on the windows side as there's no way windows should be able to copy a file that doesn't exist.
Now if I do the same thing in the SD card, the file still shows, which is no good, it's not refreshing to accurately reflect storage, but this time if I try to copy the deleted file I get the error I would suspect that the file is not found. This highlights that there is an issue with AA+ firmware and file management, and it's seeing different behaviors based on the two storage devices.
In general; I think this points to fundamental file system issues with the AA+, and I can tell you from experience that it's very possible other stability issues and inconsistencies could very well trace back to whatever is going on with the file system. you may want to look at a root level upgrade of the OS, file system and storage drivers - you may be surprised that a lot of bugs and reported issues just disappear if the core OS & filesystem become stable.
