I have my ASIAIR plus connected to my network with a direct ethernet connection. It works perfectly with my ipad but never finds it by itself. I always have to type in the IP address to connect. I have never been able to get it to connect to my Android tablet that I prefer to use because it is newer, faster, etc.
My home network router is 10.0.0.1 and the ip assigned to the AAP is 10.0.0.60. It occured to me today that the ASIAIR uses the 10.0.0.X network by default, like when connecting to Skysafari, etc. Could this be the reason I cannot get it to work with my Android tablet? Maybe something causing a conflict? The ipad doesn't seem to care but the Android tablet has never connected to it.

if possible, you can change the network of your router from10.0.x to others

Walf@ZWO yes, I could change it but it would be a big undertaking. Many of my internet connected devices have static IPs so it would mean reconfiguring everything. I might would be persuaded to do so if I was reasonably sure that was the problem with ASIAIR not working with my Android tablet. I would hate to go through all that to find it didn't help at all. What I might do is use another router to test that theory and let the tablet and ASIAIR be the only devices connected to it. I suppose that would show me if that is the problem. I wouldn't mind continuing to use the iPad but unfortunately it's older and won't support the new beta app version they just released so it would great to get my new android app working with it.

I changed my home network to use different IP addresses instead of 10.0.0.1 for my router. After changing it, my Android tablet is able to connect and work flawlessly. ZWO should consider adding a statement in the setup with a warning about home networks using 10.0.0.X IP addresses. For some reason it doesn't affect the operation when using an iPad but apparently Android doesn't like it at all. For anyone else having connection problems with your Android tablet or phone, you should check and see what your home network configuration is using for IP addresses. I changed my router to 192.168.1.1 and now it works perfectly!! It was a litte tedious since I had several devices setup with static IP's that required manually changing but it was worth it.

To connect your ASIAIR to a home network using the 10.0.0.X subnet, follow these steps: check the ASIAIR's default IP, configure it via its hotspot or Ethernet cable, and ensure it matches your router's subnet. Check your router's DHCP range and assign the IP to the ASIAIR. Test the connection by reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi and verifying its reachability. If troubleshooting occurs, ensure ASIAIR and your home network are on the same subnet for seamless communication.
