Hello there,
I have quite complex question. I am using Linux (Ubuntu) on my "astro" laptop located right beside my rig and KStars for imaging with my ZWO cameras. I'm using your great ASIFitsView software for manual/visual check of my images to make sure imaging is going well. Auto stretch is truly the best feature for me.
There is a possibility to save auto stretched image as JPG. Here is the question:
Can I somehow run/call whole "auto stretch the image and save as JPG" functionality via terminal?
This would allow me to create JPG image automatically when new .fits image is saved in the folder and this could save me a lot of time and bandwidth as now I could transfer image with smaller size to my main computer inside in the house, and I can still see if my sub frames are okay or not. And also I could easily download those JPGs on any device like phone or tablet and check it from there too...
I hope my explanation is understandable.
So I'm looking for some advice if it's possible to run it without GUI/window via terminal/bash script, perform auto stretch and save the image as JPG.
Auto stretch is smart image processing math and save to JPG is simple process. Calling some parts of the program could solve my headache how to easily get small JPG files and check it on any device.
I can easily automate converting to JPG but the main issue is how to auto stretch the image in order to see something in that image. ASIFitsView is doing really good job with auto stretch.
Thanks a lot!
