ASIAIR and focuser

I hope someone can help me, I purchase an Asiair and focuser about six month ago but the weathers not been kind were I live in the UK. I set thing up but my problem is with the focuser it will only rotate +/- 90 degrees them an alarm beep sounds. This is happening when it not even attached to the scope.

The second answer describes how to rotate over the max step limit of 60000.
