I hope someone can help with a problem I am having.
I purchased this camera(ASI482) from High Point Scientific and have been using it for about 5 months.
I previously own the ASI294 Pro color camera. It was a great camera.
With the 294 I took some wonderful pictures in SharpCap Live stacking. Rosetta IC434 and the HorseHead came out very nice. But the 482 takes these images and you almost can not see anything since the red color hardly shows up in the image. It is almost like it has an IR filter in place. Below is a list of the equipment I am using.
All pictures from both cameras have been taken under moderate light-polluted skies.
AT 66mm APO refractor and 80ED APO.
AVX mount.
Subs and always from 20-60 seconds with total times of 20min or more. Processes with DS Stacker and Gimp2
The ASI482 just seems not to have the best red color sensitivity. The m42 Orion neb seems to look good but most things don't like the Cone neb as well. Thanks for any help you can give.
