EAF keeps losing connection?

For some reason my EAF keeps losing connection. It connects initially and wotks for few minutes, and then I get a message to reconnect it manually as it lost its connection. Anyone know what the problem is? I have checked all connections. Thanks

If this is a 5V version of the ZWO EAF, try placing a powered USB hub in between the EAF and the computer. If it becomes stable, then the computer's USB port does not have enough power to keep the EAF alive. Be sure to test with a short and heavy USB cable. Do not use the flat USB cable that comes with ZWO products.

If the disconnects happen when it is cold, or continues to fail even through a powered hub and a good USB cable, then the EAF might need to be returned for replacement. Check with your dealer before the warranty runs out.

Many thanks! Just changed the cable for a thicker one and all is good!

I had to add a capacitor to the 3.3V section of the EAF's circuit to get my EAF to stop disconnecting. I used a current limited LED I added to the 3.3V section to spot the problem. The LED would rapidly flicker under certain loads. Once the 4700 uF capacitor was added the EAF would function without disconnecting and the LED would not flicker.
