What's the issue with saving to the USB storage, then just move your USB stick to the PC?
Also - I have the 7D and I'm pretty sure it saved to CF card as well when I used it. Based on your post you seem to be someone who snaps to judgement really fast. did you actually try it or are you just looking to rant?
