Anyone else in the southern hemisphere having issues with the AVX tracking correctly with the Asiair Plus AMF routine?
The tracking defaults to Eq North after the flip is performed so Dec is running in the wrong direction.
Confirmed this was the case by checking Tracking on the Hand Controller. Before the flip its set correctly by Asiair to Eq South but when it turns off/on the tracking it defaults to Eq North.
Tried setting a Plan Mode on a target in the hope I could avoid it from happening but the same thing happens once tracking is stopped and started it defaults to Eq North.
Really disappointed I can't set up multiple target plans either side of the meridian. Only thing I haven't tried is a multiple target plan on the same side of the meridian but I suspect this will have the same issue if tracking is stopped and the AVX defaults to Eq north once its receives the command from the Asiair to start tracking again.
Find it really odd that the Asiair can get the AVX to track correctly in Eq South after the initial go-to and alignment. Seems to be related to when guiding is turned on but its should auto flip the Dec as part of AMF or Plan Modes.
Sorry more questions than answers but have messaged Zwo support and will await their responce on this matter.
Zwo Asiair Plus and Celestron AVX Eq South Tracking Issue
Smash83 did you ever get to the bottom of this? I've noticed the same behaviour but don't think it's related to AMF as I've seen it at the start of a session while setting up. I confirmed the AVX was configured to EQ-South after it was turned on and aligned. Began dialing in focus by slewing with GoTo in Asiair Plus and immediately noticed star trailing at 2s exposures. Checked the setting in the AVX hand controller, and it was set to EQ-North. Changing it back to EQ-South with the HC fixed it instantly. Once tracking and guiding it appears to be OK - it's hard to tell if the problem is just being masked by the guiding - but I have noticed it when manually performing a meridian flip when I see the stars trailing again after manually slewing (with Asiair GoTo).
I've only just started using the Asiair, and I've noticed this behaviour every night of use. I suspect it might be something the Asiair is doing as it traverses the meridian (though not specifically part of doing AMF). Definitely keen to get to the bottom of it because it's frustrating having to keep checking it's still tracking in EQ-South mode.
Nevermind, I spent some time tonight figuring it out. It occurs when tracking is stopped and resumes. As the AVX has effectively 3 states - EQ-North, EQ-South and Off. When Asiair enables tracking, it sets it to EQ-North. What confuses me though is how it manages to start tracking with the correct mode to begin with but then doesn't use it if stopped and resumed mid session.

Bit late to the party but the solution is to manually set the tracking to EQ south and then do a quick align all using the AVX hand controller before connecting the Asiair to the mount
