Tri-imaging rig with synchronized dithering.
DSLR 1 (Master) is connected to the ASIAIR via USB.
The shutter release cable from the ASIAIR is connected to a shutter cable splitter which is then connected to DSLR 1, DSLR 2 and DSLR 3.
When I trigger the exposure in the ASIAIR app it will trigger 3 cameras at the same time. I still have the control on DSLR 1 in the APP.
Now I can guide and dither, all 3 cameras will be perfectly synchronized when imagining.
Of course the 2 slaves cameras will save subs on their respective SD cards and the images won’t be accessible from the ASIAIR.
In a near future I’ll probably leave the ASIAIR for a NUC + N.I.N.A, it’s a more serious solution in my opinion but for now the shutter cable splitter does the trick.
I’ll post some photos of my setup here when completed. Still waiting for my 50 cm long losmandy bar. 😆
This the shutter cable splitter in found on panosociety.com :
Now, it’s even possible to shoot Sony or Fuji camera with the ASIAIR. You just need to pair it with a Nikon camera. One could use the Nikon camera with a light , inexpensive 50 mm lens and use the unsupported camera with a bigger focal lens.
