ZWO 294MC Pro Dark Frames

Hopefully I can get some help.
Up to now have used a moded DSLR(Canon) now purchased the 294MC Pro. With DSLR the dark frames are dark, probably black, with the 294MC Pro they are mid grey at best with a sort overall sort of mottled effect-is this normal?
I have tried everything to avoid any stray light, obviously lens cap on, dark room, covered the lens cap and camera with extra covers. Used Asicap and results slightly more dark but not as dark as the DSLR.
Not been able to take any images yet as been cloudy so trying to build a dark library.

Yes that's how the darks look on the 294mc pro and other cooled cameras. Not to worry about it as when you've added these dark calibration frames it will all be ok and calibrate properly.
I moved from dslr to my 294mc pro. So it's all perfectly normal. When I took my dark frames (I use an asiair pro) I took it of the scope and put so on and covered the cap with tin foil and an elastic band. Mine calibrate all my images perfectly.
