What drivers do I need to use the ASI120MM as ST4 relay ?

Hello !

So far I've been using the ASI120MM only for planetary imaging, but now I'd like to use it as a guiding cam for deep sky photography since my old guiding cam produces too much noise to be of any use.

With my setup I have to use the guiding cam as ST4 relay (i.e. send the guiding signals via USB to the camera and from there via ST4 to my mount control box.

For guiding and imaging I'm using Astroart.

So which ASCOM drivers do I have to install for the ASI120MM to work as ST4 relay ?

I have already installed the ASICamera ASCOM Setup - do I have to install in addition the ASICamera ST4 Telescope ASCOM Setup or the USBST4 ASCOM Setup ?

PS: If Sam Wen should read this: Hi Sam, we've contacted already on the topic on FireCapture and the ASI120MM - now my ASI1200MM works fine with FireCapture. Have you heard of Torsten's heart attack and stay at the hospital ? Good luck to him that he recovers well !

its great news Torsten recover well :)

there are 2 way to guider,we suggest the way use WDM+ST4 driver

so you need to select ASCOM direct instead of relay

Hi Sam,

I'll try it that way ! Unfortunately we're rather clouded over theses days so I'll have to wait until I can try it out actually. But at least I was already able to test if AstroArt recognizes the ASI 120MM and it does !

As far as I see from that guiding manual you showed me AstroArt might be a bit different from PHPGuiding or MaximDL - I'll try out the options AstroArt offers to me, make a few screenshots and post a detailed report here.

I made a very interesting observation: Astroart recognizes the ASI 120MM but doesn't at first capture any images - the image windows are all black.

But when I first start FireCapture, then close FireCapture and start Astroart everything works fine.

For Guiding AStroart offers only (besides other useless options) the "ASCOM Camera relays" option and this option works very well.

I'll give more details later on.

can you updated to the sdk1.0.0.4 and test the ascom driver again?

it works for me in Astroart and don't need open FC at first

I've installed the SDK1.0.0.4 and now AstroArt works fine with the ASI120MM. Thanks for the hint with the SDK !
