I have just started using the ASIAIR and I have an older ASI185MC camera (which I’ll eventually upgrade). The camera is relatively slow and has a lot of amp glow (particularly noticeable on short 10second exposures). This means that it has a hard time plate solving (if it does solve within 100 seconds it can take 40-60 seconds, usually fails though).
I found that if I adjust the black level in preview mode to eliminate some of the background light (amp glow and noise) I can actually get the plate solve to give me a positive result in under 2 seconds!
The problem is there is no obvious way to make that setting apply to the automated plate solve (for example after a goto, or PA). In Sharpcap it’s possible to tweek the sensitivity of the plate solve - I would like to see a similar ability in the ASIAIR. I would suggest that this would be a significant improvement on an already good product.
