ASIAIar Pro.
I recently started using a GL.Inet Slate extender to boost the WiFi of my Pro, I know it has received mixed reviews on this forum but I liked the fact it runs OpenWRT. [Edit: not technically boosting the WiFi but you know what I mean.]
In DSO mode it works great, ie EAF using USB power from the main camera hub and the Slate connected to the Air via short Ethernet cable and USB. The Slate has good range and easily links to my home WiFi and doesn't drop out like my previous setup with an extender a few metres away from the Air. Plus I like the way it switches on and off with the Air.
If I switch to planetary mode where I replace the main camera with one without a hub and connect the EAF directly to the Air, activating the EAF makes the Air lose connection. Using a 5 volt supply via a mains adapter to the Slate fixes the problem but isn't so neat and tidy.
Is it possible the hub on the cooled camera uses power from the 12v supply? I imagine not. So is this more likely signal interference rather than a power problem?
Update:
Did some more testing and discovered that removing the 12v power from the camera with the hub makes the EAF behave the same as a direct connection to the Air, so perhaps it does power the hub after all.
