Is there any way to download or copy the content in an Autorun Log, specifically the contents of the autofocus component? I know Autorun generates the log somewhere in ASIAIR's file system, and I can read the log on my iPad screen. But I can't copy the log (double-tap, Select, Copy) or download it for later review when the ASIAIR is powered down. At best for now, I can grab a screen capture and save the picture to the iPad's Photos library. Or can I ssh into the ASIAIR (not even sure this is possible, I think the box is locked down) and find/copy the log manually?
When I do Autofocus using the Focuser/AF button (ie NOT as part of an AutoRun or Plan), is a log generated, and if so where can I find it? Being able to review that log is a BIG help when AF fails, telling me at what step in the process things went south - step size, star size, exposure, etc. i know AF displays a short description of what it suggests should be changed for a new AF run, but using trial and error to get a successful AF seems like a 2005 solution.
Which brings up a secondary question: the AF graph is generated in real-time, and when the AF run is finished, the graph is left visible to show final focus recommendation, or suggested setting changes if it failed. But if you leave that screen, you can't go back to it or reload it. I've taken to grabbing screen captures of the final graph, but is it available to re-display if I'm having problems with focus? Its frustrating to leave the display then realize there was something on it you missed, and you can't go back to it.
Related to the above, I understand there's been some discussion about the use of a parabola vs hyperbola as the AF data fitting model. My manual focus result is always 2-6 steps in or out from what the AF result comes up with, meaning AF can't be reliably used to correctly focus my scope as part of an AutoRun or Plan sequence. I have to wonder if the use of a parabolic model instead of a hyperbolic model isn't responsible for that small offset.
Could I request that the AF process itself be documented somewhere? I've read user snippets that explain some of the series of events, but its not enough to help a user understand what's going on. For example, does AF move focuser out 5 x step size, or is it moving the focuser out while measuring and looking for star size >= 8?
