Hi all,
Have just ordered the ASI034MC and am awaiting its arrival in the post. I am a bit new to this "webcam" photography so will I need to get any other items, e.g. imaging software etc. in order to be able to use this with my 130mm Newtonian, or can it basically be used straight out of the box for planetary imaging, thanks for any help?
Just put it in the scope instead of an eyepiece, download sharpcap or firecapture (sharpcap is more beginner friendly) install the driver for the cam... Plug it into laptop... Start sharpcap and focus...
good luck :-)
Thanks for that - it's about what I did, after a few adjustments and playing with the settings in Sharpcap got some video and processed it in Registax - looking OK but need to practice.
well done for your first light!
Thanks Sam
This was my first light from Monday night using a nexstar 4se and a 2x barlow for F/26.
I also have a meade 2080 sct that I need to try it with.
A question for Sam, will this camera work with a eyepiece mounted in a tele-extender?
Nice!
yes it can work with an eyepiece to give large magnification
Great images
Very nice !
