SaraMcAllister firmware update on the EAF but I use a Mac and, while there is an updater for Windows, there are no instructions on how to do this on iOS.
You cannot update the firmware from iOS, but you can from your Mac (since about two weeks ago).
Just go to the ZWO software web page, and select the FW Update tab on that page. Look for the EAF firmware and download the macOS version. It will be in the form of a ZIP formatted file. Double click on that file and it should expand into a macOS folder that contains the firmware download app, together with the firmware hex file.
You will need to tell macOS to ignore the security settings because ZWO is too cheap to pay for a developer license.
Otherwise, it runs fine (I have used it successfully on two different Apple Silicon computers).
It should report the existing firmware version when it finds your EAF. When you ask it to update, it will ask for the firmware file -- just navigate to the above mentioned hex file.
Takes less than a minute, after which it will reboot the EAF, and report the new firmware version.
That being said, I don't believe that your problem can be fixed by a firmware upate. I have not seen anything in the update notes about connection fixes for ASIAIR.
Try this instead: as a sanity check, try removing all USB devices from ASIAIR, and connect only the EAF to the ASIAIR. If that makes the EAF connect reliably, you might try connecting the EAF to the ASIAIR through a powered USB hub.
