I want to buy a zwo pier for my am5 mount. I have a Berlebach adapter to attach to the bottom of the am5 which then allows me to attach the mount to my Celestron AVX tripod. Will the pier attach onto the bottom of the am5 and then allow me to attach the Berlebach to the bottom of the pier to let me attach the mount plus pier onto my AVX

Hi, I have purchased the 160 pier and I can tell you it doesn’t fit. I will need to purchase the zwo carbon tripod to get the silver adapter to fit onto the bottom of the am5 then it will fit onto the pier. I really don’t want to buy another tripod when I feel the AVX tripod should do.

ZWO is working on a new pier, PE200. They announced it on their Facebook page. Apparently, the piers that have been released so far are less than perfect.

Thanks. I have a Berlebach adapter that fits the bottom of the pier but will the pe200 fit the bottom on the am5 then allow me to attach the Berlebach adapter to the pier. My tripod is a Celestron AVX. So the sequence will be - am5- pe200- Berlebach adapter and finally the tripod. Will it work?

Hi, is there an answer coming? I really don’t want to purchase another tripod when the Celestron AVX one will do. I have a 160 pier but without the silver adapter that comes with the carbon tripod the am5 does not fit the pier. I’m hoping the new PE500 will attach both to the am5 and at the bottom, the Berlebach adapter. Please answer.

The new Pier is released. Sky-watcher and iOptron tripod is supported.

Hi Crackout, you have to unscrew the post from the top of the AVX tripod or if you purchase a Berlebach adapter there is a slot where, I think, the post should fit, but in my opinion remove the post and when everything is together mark that position, for repeatability. I really hope the PE200 does the job for me so I don’t have the buy another tripod.

Hi, from the supplied pictures I really cannot see how the PE200 will work on my AVX tripod. A silver adapter will fit on the bottom of the am5 then the pier. The only way I can envisage fitting the pier to the AVX tripod is using a Berlebach adapter then screw in the bolt that is on the tripod. I may be wrong and have purchased a 160 pier after being told everything will fit together but they don’t. If only I could get a silver adapter ( that comes with the carbon tripod) my problems would be solved. Anyone advise please.

denababy PE200 provides 2 adapter plates. And we will check with the team to confirm.

PE160 and AVX tripod can fit, AVX has an M10 screw and PE160 is 3/8, it's a close fit. You need to remove the top screw on the AVX tripod.

This can work, but it is not that stable, we would be more recommend using PE200 to connect AVX tripod.

This must be really frustrating for you just as it is for me.
I have a 160 pier and a Berlebach adapter, everything fits together other than attaching the am5 too the pier, and to do that I need the silver adapter that comes with the carbon tripod. I don’t want to buy the carbon tripod as I have an AVX tripod. All I need is the silver adapter that comes with the carbon tripod and screws into the bottom of the am5 which will then fit onto the top of the pier. Is there any way you can sell me one of those adapters please.

I have purchased yesterday the pier just to get today an email from the sales team informing me the price was wrong on the website. It was listed at 39USD and the "correct price" is actually 169 USD.
Really not going to pay that for a pier - does it come with gold plates perhaps?

Hello - any change to sell the Skywatcher adapter for PE70 adapters for AM5? The early adopters of AM5 (like me) have bought the PE70 extension blocks. Too bad that ZWO is forcing now to buy PE200 after having spent on PE70.
