290MM Bus 001 Device 010: ID d282:5303
But it is not labeled. I think it has lost its firmware. How can I force the camera to be flashed if the flash tool can not recognize the camera?
You guys piqued my curiosity, so I dug really deep into my closet to bring out an ancient ASI120MM (USB 2.0).
This is what the PID/VID looks like on the USB device tree of a Mac Studio running macOS Monterey.
As usual, its PID has to do with the numerical camera model (but in hex).
However, before you run out and find a friend with a Mac, the ASI120 is just as unstable as it used to be when it was new.
It took a dozen attempts just to connect it to ZWO's own ASICAP v2.7; and after connecting, it was dropping frames like crazy:
Most of the time, it simply sat frozen. When it did run, I was getting fewer than 0.1 FPS.
Do yourselves a favor, let the camera die a merciful death. Do not try to resuscitate. The ASI120 has always been a piece of crap.
