ASI1600MMC appears to be dead?

A couple of years back the PC end of my USB 3.1 cable broke into several pieces as I unplugged it from my laptop at the end of an imaging session. I ordered a Tripp-Lite USB 3.1 cable from the web to replace the busted cable, but the camera failed to communicate with the laptop using Sharpcap.
I ordered a second USB cable, still black (the software, further fails to acknowledge the presence of my camera).
Sharpcap works fine with my ASI102MM.
So... is the camera dead, or does ZWO use proprietary cabling?

Please use a 12V power supply to power the camera, and directly connect the camera to PC don't use any hub.
Then try different ports, cables, and computers, and check the device manager, if there is no new device and don't hear the connection sound, you camera needs to be shipped back for repair.

Thank You. I did all of this in the past, but I will check once more, just to be safe. What is the process for return for repair?

OK, I just finished connecting the camera to my laptop (ASUS I-7, 2 years old) and 2 different 12V power supplies, one a 5-Amp, 110 volt adapter, the 0ther a 12V deep cycle marine battery. The cooling fan did not spin up either time. The computer chirped when I inserted the USB cable into my laptop, but no onscreen message acknowledging new hardware.
Sharpcap did not find the ASI1600MMC.
In test camera mode. I was able to control the filter wheel and (apparently) turn the cooler on and off (but not set the temperature). Live mode did not display any image and all attempts to capture frames were unsuccessful.
So, how do I pack this camera up and send it in for repair?

JBaker Before that, we recommend you re-install the newest version native driver and ASIStudio to see if it can recognize the camera.
Since you can hear the connection sound, please also check the device manager to see if there is a new device appears, maybe the name is wrong or with a yellow exclamation mark.
In this case, we may solve this problem remotely.

Immediately following my initial attempt to download ASIStudio using the link you provided my computer crashed hard, completely dead and it remained dead for more than 24 hours. I tried several times during that period to cold boot my system (pressing and holding the power button) without success. Today I tried once more and my computer rebooted. When I click the link you provided My Norton Antivirus no longer prevents me from loading the software-drivers page. BUT when I attempt to press the DOWNLOAD the driver Norton antivirus pops up declaring this file a malicious download and prevents me from downloading it.

OK, 6 months ago this thread originally requested repair information regarding my ZWO 1600MMC camera. My computer does not recognize the camera when I plug it in to my USB 3.1 port (ASUS Intel I7 16GB RAM 512GB SSD notebook running Windows 11). Sharpcap and ASI Studio do not see the camera also. The original USB Cable which came with the camera fell apart at the USB A connector during use about 2 years ago. I ordered Tripp-Lite U322-015 USB 3,0 replacement cable but this did not fix the issue of computer recognition. 6 months ago we chatted about this. You instructed me to download updated drivers. I tried but Norton Antivirus and Microsoft Edge Both refused the command, claiming that ZWO was a malicious site. So, I waited, and I tried again and again and again... weekly for the last 6 months. Finally, successfully. I guess my browser no longer considers ZWO malicious? Only problem now is that My computer continues to not recognize the 1600MMC. ASI Studio does not see the 1600MMc and Sharpcap does not see an ASI camera. This camera is dead. Plugging 12V into the camera does not activate the fan, but the housing gets rather uncomfortably warm. Is there any hope for salvaging the camera, or should I trash it?

JBaker Could you test the camera on different PCs? please directly connect the camera to PC, don't use any hub.
If the camera still can not be recognized with different USB cables, ports, and 12V power supplies. it may need to be shipped back for repair.
When and where did you buy the camera? you can contact the dealer for repair.
