Runaway EAF

I have experienced this on 3 separate nights.
What has happened is that, as I am manually focusing before engaging the Autofocus routine, the EAF will simply not stop after I release my finger from my iPad... the motor keeps running (seems always out) and does not stop till it hits a physical stop or reaches 60000. As this is happening, I have tried to use the App to turn off the EAF. This does not affect it. I have tried to shut down, and this does not stop it (as I suspect it does not complete the shutdown command until the EAF is done moving.
After I restart I can then see/activate the EAF, tell it to go to a last known good point for the evening and carry on with my session. It is NOT a fingerprint in the screen causing the button to remain activated. That was the first thing I thought of and wiped across the surface in that area of the app immediately. No effect. While it is happening nothing else can be controlled except to go the the device tab and turn off and on, which, as I stated already, does not stop it. It will continue to run to the limit even when it shows turned off. I have never updated the firmware. It is the 12v version.

Nope. The EAF Firmware Updater is a standalone program (versions for Windows or macOS, but not Linux). When you download the package, it comes with a firmware hex file.

Be sure to connect only the EAF to the computer when you run the updater. People have been known to brick other devices (like an EFW) when they are also connected to the computer when the updater runs.

All right, and yes. I just had to get past the MacOS security but that wasn't hard. Since updating the EAF, I have had some other problems, though, so far, not a runaway focusing situation. Now though, nearly every time auto focus is initiated by the AIR for a 2 degree temp change, the EAF freezes, disconnects and I have to restart the AIR to even get beyond this. I have restored the AIR firmware and brought back up to latest release, and it may be all right now, but now my 2600MC has had to be sent in for a problem, so my options to test are limited to my planetary cam. Thank you for your assistance in the firmware issue!
