When creating a plan I often vary exposure time with the sequences. 5 minutes subs for getting the nebulosity and 1 min subs for getting stars (for example). Now for the 5m subs I prefer to dither after each frame, but for the 1m subs this is a big waste of time, so I have to compromise somehow. If I would be able to set the dither interval at the sequence level I won't have to compromise and set the best for both situations.
Another situation which would benefit is when you shoot a nebula for say 4h and when it gets out of sight then switch to a galaxy. Exposure times are quite different between these two types of targets.
