The 169.254.xx.xxx IP address is WiFi the address Raspbian uses. The 10.0.0.1 IP address is known as a "local host." It is the address that the ASIAIR is located when your tablet is connected to the ASIAIR hotspot.
If you are out in the field, disconnect ASIAIR from Station Mode ahead of time. While out in the field, manually connect the tablet (the tablet, not the ASIAIR app) to the ASIAIR device's WiFi hotspot. On an iOS/iPadOS device, this is done in the WiFi settings of the iOS Settings window.
Additionally, on iOS or iPadOS, remove "Auto Join" from all your other WiFI hosts (like your home network). When you are connected to the ASIAIR hotspot, you will be connected with ASIAIR acting as a "local host" (ASIAIR will appear as 10.0.0.x.). Stay within 1 meter of the ASIAIR device, especially if there are other WiFi devices within 30 meters of you.
If you want a more reliable connection, use an Ethernet dongle with your tablet. With an iPhone, just buy a Ethernet to Lightning adapter; with a new iPad Pro, just buy any USB-C Ethernet adapter. Choose a Gigabit adapter. Once ASIAIR is connected through an Ethernet adapter to your iOS device, it will appear in iOS Settings, right under WiFI, and will show whether it is connected as 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Mbits/sec.
Direct connect the adapter to the ASIAIR using a CAT6 or better cable. ASIAIR will then appear as a network device on your tablet with 169.254.xx.xxx as its address. In addition to reliability, it will also give you the best transfer rate for ASIAIR. At home, connect the ASIAIR through Ethernet to your home router.
