Date and time on ASI air and Atlas

Just getting my new Plus hooked up. So far so good. I am using the Orion Atlas mount. In setting up the mount, I go through the usual setup menu of date, time, coordinates, DST, 1-3 star alignment, etc. How is this information used by the Plus? Do I need to make sure the Plus and the mount info jive somehow, or does the Plus use the info contained in the I-pad?

This is interesting! I have an older Orion Atlas mount and do the same maneuvers that you do before plugging in the USB cable in the hand controller. I also do only a one star alignment and press enter no matter where the mount is pointing before plugging in the USB cable. I hit sync to mount before entering the app. I then check the plate solving and performed the polar alignment (PA). I have had no problems using the ASIair Pro with my iPad Pro before the firmware upgrade to version 2. I got an ASIair Plus for Christmas and updated the firmware to version 2. Last night I had no problems imaging the Pleiades, even with a meridian flip. However when I tried to image the Orion Nebula, the mount could not locate the target and guiding failed to work. Not sure what the problem is, but I truly believe that the ASIair Plus and the Atlas mount at some point failed to communicate properly. One option may be to attach the ASIair directly to the mount bypassing the hand controller with an EQMOD cable. Over the next few days to weeks I plan to try to troubleshoot this problem. Definitely the ASIair must jive with the mount. I feel that the ASIair uses the information provided by the app. Not sure what it does with the information contained in the hand controller. Also, not sure if the new firmware contains some bugs that need to be fixed. Hope this helps if you have problems getting your mount to work with your ASIair.
