ASIAIR Plus and the Celestron Edge HD 8"

Hello,
Has anyone used the AM5 mount and Air Plus with the Celestron Edge 8"?

I am still waiting for the .7 reducer so I'll have to start imaging at f10. Will ASIAIR Plus plate solve at this focal ratio and focal length (f10 and 2032mm)?

jsg i do not own the AM5 but I successfully use the EdgeHD 8" with an ASIAir Pro (2nd generation). The ASIAir Plus (3rd generation) should be working as well.

You need to calculate the FOV that depends on camera sensor size as well
Asiair has a FOV limit to successfully run the plate solve

stevesp good point! Thanks for the reminder, i totally forgot to mention my setup. Note to self: think before typing 🙈

I use the EdgeHD with and without focal reducer (at f/10 and f/7) with a 1600MM Pro and recently with a 2600MC Pro.

Oops! I forgot to mention that I imaging with the ASI2600MC camera.

I am also thinking about binning at a focal length of 2032mm and whether 2x2 binning will make things a bit easier.

The FOV with my camera (ASI2600MC is 0.66° x 0.44°. I think that is near the limit of plate solving. I am assuming that increasing the exposure time when plate solving might resolve that, if in fact there is a problem.

I've read that the Celestron .7 reducer for the Edge 8 can introduce star artifacts, do you have any images you'd be willing to share with that setup?

I have the same setup (C8HD+ reducer 0.7+ 2600MC) and it usually does the plate solve successfully
