Dear ZWO Team,
First of all, I wanted to thank you for bringing awesome / "game changing" Astro-Imaging gear to the amateur astronomy market! I have both of your excellent ASIAir Pro and Plus units and will be picking up the ASIAir Mini next month and I have two "requests" for future ASIAir enhancements that would be fantastic additions to the astronomy community:
1) Ability to "tether" and "synch" multiple ASIAirs to control 2 main imaging cameras simultaneously and align "dither sequencing" for piggybacked imaging rigs in parallel. For example, this would be an excellent use of the ASIAir Mini to be able to plug into one of the USB Ports of a "master" ASIAir Plus to allow the Plus to manage the primary (presumably longer focal length) rig camera while allowing the Mini to manage the secondary (presumably shorter focal length) rig camera to coordinate imaging sequences and dither "settling times" so both rigs can capture off the same mount without "star jitter". Also, the imaging sequences would be mirrored so both the Plus and Mini Lights would be labeled and stored according to the master (Plus) imaging rig.
2) Ability to control Alt-Az mounts (i.e. AZ-GTi, Evolution, etc.) and go-to / plate solve with guiding image sequence and field rotation "lights exposure calculations" based on altitude of the target object. These calculations (for exposure duration) would be automatically determined from the Ephemeris transit of the object (Declination / Altitude of the object as it passes the Meridian) and by the max Alt-Az guide-pulse rates of the mount. This would be an excellent feature for EAA and enabling very light "travel friendly" imaging systems where you could pack, for example, a mini scope (40 or 50 mm), ASIAir Mini, Mini Guide Scope, Uncooled ZWO camera (i.e. ASI294MC or 533MC), mini mount (i.e. AZ-GTi), plus guide camera (i.e. ASI120MM mini)...
Appreciate and look forward to your consideration of my suggestions above and keep looking up and enjoying the journey!
Clear Skies and Cheers!
Cameron
