I know this is a known and discussed problem (cloudynights, etc.). I'm trying to see what the solution is, if there is one. Those forum discussions get convoluted fast.
My typical use of this camera:
- bin 2x2 (11MP, 4k x 3k resolution)
- unity gain (120)
- 120s-180s-300s subs
- Always calibrated with darks, flats, dark flats
- Broadband (LRGB) and Narrowband (ZWO 7nm)
I use this camera on a TS RC10 scope, pretty zoomed in. I cannot so 600s or 1200s subs without affecting star shape.
All my data suffers from horizontal banding. It's particularly bad in Narrowband (SHO), but it is also visible in broadband (LRGB).
Are there any settings I should use to remove or significantly reduce horizontal banding? Thanks.
