bauer100 Is there a model number or a link for a replacement antenna i can buy for an ASIAIR Plus?
Go to Mouser, DigiKey or Amazon and look for an SMA WiFi antenna that covers both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
If your ASIAIR can physically move during the night, do not be tempted with "high gain" antennas, since gain from a passive device is only produced by greater directivity, and that can cause drop outs as the antenna moves (or even worse, points the high gain lobe towards your neighbor and also causing the ASIAIR to lose connection to you). I.e., you will get better connectivity at times, and worse than average connectivity (including drop outs) at times. High gain antennas should only be used when the antenna is mounted at a fixed orientation.
Make sure the SMA connector at the antenna is a male (with a pin at the center). There are equal number of antennas that have female connectors (RP-SMA, reverse polarity SMA) with a hole at the center. The ASIAIR "Plus" models (both third generation and fourth generation) need an antenna whose SMA connector has a pin in the center (i.e., not RP-SMA).
